I have had a slow onset of shortness of breath with chest pain on exertion. It has been worked up for cardiac problems and is negative. This has been going on for three years. Recently I was diagnosed as asthma and have been receiving treatment for that. It is getting worse and I feel like there is an elephant sitting on my chest, I cough a lot and clear my throat constantly as if there is mucus in there. I also have difficulty swallowing and choke a lot and it feels like fluid is going "down the wrong pipe". I am extemely frustrated that no one seems to be able to diagnose this. Any suggestions would be helpful. I also have a sister with similar symptoms and another sister with lupus, I don't know if there is any connection or not.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
