I would appreciate any suggestions you might offer. I'll be as brief as possible.

Symptoms:
- Pressure in my forehead. Both sides. Started about a year ago and has gradually progressed from mild to severe. Present 24/7.
- Stiff feeling in my face. Both sides. Started about 3 months ago around my eyes and now covers my entire face. Recently became more pronounced on the left side.
- Difficulty with sleep. Never a problem going to sleep, but if I wake up I'm done!
-tingling numbness in left hand and left foot. Started about a week ago.
-waves of mild nausia. I think from the head pressure.

I tried to self-treat my head pressure for about 9 months with dietary changes, more water, etc. About three months ago I got my doctor involved. He started by focusing on my sleep quality by proscribing Ambien. It wasn't effective and tried several other drugs...currently nortryptalene 50mg. Still not sleeping well.

My doc has suggested anxiety/stress as the underlying cause. He put me on Wellbutrin for about a month but my symptoms only worsened. We stopped that.

I had a CT scan with emphasis on my sinuses that was pronounced "clear". I am scheduled to see a neurologist in two weeks.

I would welcome any ideas! Thanks my Internet friends!

  • Hi there. I have all of the same problems as you. The worst is the "stiffness" in my neck and facial skin, especially on my left side as well. I have a headache most of the time and feel dizzy often. I have been hospitalized and had cat scans, mri's etc and been checked for everything from Multiple Sclerosis, to Myasthenia Gravis, to Lyme Disease, but have not been able to get a diagnosis. My dentist thinks I have something called TMJ Syndrome, but I am reluctant to believe that is the problem as my symptoms are not only in my face and neck but also have the stiff skin feeling in my arms and back area. Other symptoms I have are lower back pain on a daily basis, shooting pains through my chest, a heavy "caving in" feeling in my chest, trouble sleeping and constantly feeling exhausted. Numbness in upper right side of my back and in big toe on left foot. Anyways, sounds like we could have the same problem...I would be interested in hearing more about what you're experiencing. -Angel

  • I'm really sorry to scare you, but have they done a CT scan to look for a brain aneurysm? I'm glad you're going to see a neurologist soon!

I am having very similar symptoms and heat flashes eminating from my lower back. Have had MRI, CT, etc, and prescribed an antidepressant. But the only thing depressing is that they seem unable to locate the underlying issue. I also very recently feel like my brow is furrowed and my eyelids both droop noticeably. Thanks, Jonjbaker1633@yahoo.comDid you ever get a diagnosis, I have very similar symptoms and have just been prescribed Celaxa for possible depression. I don't feel depressed at all. In addition to most of your symptoms, I have heat flashes occasionally eminating from my lower back. Not really neck stiffness, but very recently it feels like my brow is furrowed noticeably and my eyelids droop. jbaker1633@yahoo.com. Thanks
