I am currently in japan and as such am not able to explain symptoms properly and have had foot pain for a good 2 months. The area that hurts is the outside top right of my foot/ankle walking is fine and running in a straight line is fine. As is running round a corner that leans left but as soon as i try to run around a corner leaning right or change direction quickly it causes a sharp pain just infront of the outisde ankle bone towards the toes where it`s kind of soft. Sorry not exactly overly precise. I play basketball everyday with a club that trains quite hard for maybe 3 to 3 and a half hours and this is how it started. I haven`t twisted it at all or done anything sepcific but i can`t do much on the court as speed and direction is impossible at the moment. If anyone could give me advice or tell me what it might be i would be really grateful, things kind of get lost in translation here

  • try to see a physiotherapist, remedial therapist or osteopath...you may have a stress fracture that has been developing over a prolonged period of time and is exagerated during periods of stress.....it could also be a bursitis (inflammation of fluid filled sack between joints) or more simply a form of tendonitis, have you tried icing? or sodium bicarb poultice, resting the injury may seem simple however effective, have it looked at and resist from activites that aggravate the condition until you know what your dealing with.
