Flushing in Hands and Face

Hello, I started to really notice my facial flushing at the beginning of high school, when I was about 15. When I turned 17, I noticed that my hands have become red too. The majority of the time, my face turns red rather than my hands. I'm 19 years old now.

They both can be caused by any type of emotion, like when I'm sad, hyper, mad, causing fear, when I'm doing something physical which could be picking up something off the floor or running. Even when I take a warm shower, sometimes when I get out, my face is really red(my cheeks and nose). Also, the warm shower can even make my toes and knees red.

Other times I have my good days, where I'm perfectly normal. Part of it, I really think is a mental issue, but other times, I won't be using my mind at all, (being physical; like dancing)and my face will turn red without even me thinking about, and i cannot help it.

I use acne wash, *clean and clear for sensitive skin*. That's one conclusion that I thought of since I use my hands to apply it to my face and that's what turns red the most. But I'm not sure. The only other thing I put on my face is clean and clear lotion, which I don't think that causes anything because my face started to turn red before I used the lotion.

Thanks for reading!
Any information or advice would be very helpful.

  • Yes, I have a cell phone. I got my cell phone when I was almost 16 yrs old. I don't use wireless internet and the nearest cell phone tower is... I think it's a town away.

  • It sounds to me like you've got a severe case of simple blushing.

  • I dont know... I've looked up some stuff about rosacea.I think something else is causing it.I have Rosacea and my face and hands flush. Sometimes they flush at the same times and other times just one or the other. Some people with Rocesea don't have the acne they just have flushing. Maybe thats what you have.
