hello, i recently began studying for the california bar exam and my right hand went numb. i thought it was from sleeping bad but ive modified my sleep and its still numb. my symptoms are numb and swollen fingers, elbow tenderness and im not able to use my fingers to type well. the left hand is fine. i went to the dr and he said its not carpal tunnel and thinks its just muscle strains from over use. ive been taking vitamins and stretching it and its getting a little better but i have to be cured in less than a month so i can take the bar. i am able to write for short periods and type very little but anything more than that makes my hand feel as though its tight and can barely move anymore. any suggestions????

  • I had a day where my fingers went numb and I lost dexterity and strength of my left arm and hand. I had a growth on my brain over the part of the brain that controls that. Now I am rehabilitating. CT scan and MRI can reveal if there are any growths.

  • There are different types of carpal tunnel and also elbow bursitis/tendonitis. Type in your symptoms, especially the hand tightness, glove numbness, different fingers affected and spots on the shoulder and back that have symptoms. My carpal started with a feeling that someone was touching my back!. Kinda spooky when you work nights. The RICE regime, (rest, ice, compress, and elevate), can help your elbow. Ibuprofen, round-the-clock, may also work if you can take it. You can get a wrist splint at the drugstore for about $20, which will keep your wrist/hand in alignment while you sleep. Good luck with your test.
