  • Same problem with my thumb nail. First it became whitish - discolored. I noticed when I had the tip removed for a fill-in. It had also split down the middle. The same thing was happening on the other thumb. I immediatley stopped weaaring acrylic nails and have been nursing my nails since February. It is now August and even with vit E and other oils it is just beginning to get better. That is the good news! The right thumb is now sore if you press the top of the nail. No sign of any injury. The split has almost grown out. But the pain and discolortion are still there. White and milky looking. Also, I have a black line running vertically down that nail from tip to base. Any info would be appreciated!
