Just got reports back, and this is what it said. What does this mean? I have had a mitral valve prolapse since a child. I do pretty well, but have been on antibiotics for a sinus/ear infection because of dizziness. It has worked pretty well, but not over it. Can this be related?

  • Fibrosis of the cardiad apex can result from excessive use of the papillary muscles(the ones that anchor the mitral valve down)/.It sounds as if your mitral valve prolapse has not been treated.Have you been on beta blockers? If not,you probably should be.Do you have any symptoms of cardiac decompensation, such as shortness of breath, especially when lying down?Do you ever wake up struggling to breathe? The fibrosis needs to be evaluated further if you have any symptoms.
