70 Year old female. Having problems for 4 months. When I lie down sometimes symptoms are relieved. Been to all kinds of Dr.'s. Had many antibiotics. They seem to work and then I get sick again. All over feeling of sickness. Sinus? Acid Reflux?

  • My first thought is thyroid. Also, acid reflux can make you feel as though you have a constant lump in your throat. Either way you should probably check with a doc. And ignore the dimwitted little twits.

  • Get your thyroid checked. You probably need an ultrasound of that area.

  • Consider hypothyroidism, or underactive thryroid. The thyroid is a gland located right above the collarbone, it wraps around the windpipe. If swollen, the thryoid can cause a tightness or choking feeling. Consider getting your thyroid checked if:- the tightness is paired with fatigue or depression- you're experiencing dizziness or brain fog- you're a woman- you recently quit smokingSmoking often masks the symptoms of hypothyroidism (appetite-suppressant, higher metabolism) while also worsening the disorder. When a person quits, the symptoms usually surface within 3-6 months. The book "Living Well With Hypothyroidism" is a great resource.

  • My first thought is food allergies. This can include spices too. You can develop such a problem over time, and a once harmless item is no longer your friend. An ELISA blood test can provide a lot of information regarding this. My other thought is thyroid, as many folks above have suggested. Best of luck!

And ignore the dimwitted little twits.I'm 16 and i just started to feel like i have a lump in my throat. I feel like its hard to swallow and hard to breath. And my tongue, its weird, it looks patchy and it hurts when i eat. I dont know whats a matter! Does anyone else feel like that or have the same symptoms?
