Feeling of a patch on my back

Within the last couple of weeks are so, I have the sensation of a patch on my back- sort of a rectangle formed by my two shoulder blades. It isn't painful and I can't really describe it as "itching". I've asked my wife to check and see if there was a rash or skin irritation but found none. Any ideas as to what it could be. Again, it isn't painful and I can't say it really itches. Could it just be dry skin? I'm a male, fifty four years old. Any help/opinions would be appreciated!

  • If you got a Dx, please let me know! I have the same thing here 9 years later. Dr's ruled out MS due to other symptoms, also post herpetic neuralgia is a possibility but I haven't had a shingles outbreak though it follows the nerve path. Mine tingles and sometimes burns along with muscle soreness beneath. A rash does appear when I get hot. If you live in frack territory, you will never get an answer, or recourse because it could also be neurotoxicity caused by the hydrocarbons in gas and oil extraction like benzene and toluene.
