I don't have a cold but I have had stuffy nose and sinus pressure for weeks. Now I am getting headaches and my left eye hurts and swells from time to time. Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening??????????

  • You'll want to see a doctor about this. It could be sinusitus. The only thing that is not typical as far as I know is your swelling eye. But to be sure: is your eye actually swelling or is it the eyelid that is swelling? Because pressure above, behind and below the eyes, eyeaches, eyelid swelling are typical of sinusitis, but as far as I know the eyes don't swell, although it may be possible if they become inflamed by pressure from tissue around them. Some people with sinusitis never have colds, so having a cold is not the best indicator. Or they get a cold and it goes away, but the sinusitis sets in but they have sinus pain and pressure and get headaches especially in the forehead, right above the eyes. I used to suffer from sinusitis and had symptoms off and on for over ten years, the worst of which was waking up with headaches every single morning for about a year. When I gave up eggs, dairy and wheat the sinusitis went away. You might explore testing for allergies or food sensitivities because in some people allergens are triggers for bouts. Also, if you do have sinusitis there is an excellent book called "Sinus Survival" that you may want to take a look at.Other symptoms that I am aware of (you can also look here at wrong diagnosis's own site about sinusitis http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/s/sinusitis/symptoms.htm):pain in cheekbones (this can also be from MSG sensitivity)pain or pressure behind the eyessensitivity to lightintense pressure on the forehead when leaning forwarddizziness extreme sensitivity to strong smellstoothaches that are fleeting or that jump from one tooth to anotherfeeling of a current between teethDefinitely get checked out by a doctor.
