suffers from depression. Started in Feburary lasted 3 weeks came back end of April. up to 20 times a day then slowly recedes. Neuroligist says psuedo siezures, psychiatrist and therapist say they don' t think so. No known self medicating or drug use. Drug test at ER was clean. Referred to sleep specialist. Does not think it is Narcolepsy. Everyone says it is not this or that We need help our lives are falling apart she is a junior in high school, she deserves better.

  • Do your 17 year old a favor google symptoms of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis google symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome I'm being tested now please read last 5 pages of "It's a mystery until we solve it" there you will find MANY others having similar problems...many close to same age...although it seems to affect every age group ME was removed from the CDC's diagnostic code list for a while in USAWorld Health Organization has continued with ME on their list since the 30's?????????????? Lots of unanswered questions but for now...look up info If many other diseases have been ruled out...as is the case with me...then CFS/ME is a good place to start looking for answers again many across the country and even other countries are already responding and taking info to docs...I did and he was easily convinced not because he's a pushover, but because it all made sense...he had no reason to rule it out and no disease left to test me for Good Luck and God Bless you and your family...I pray everyday for every person who posts here...I know I am in the same boat... mommy cat:)

  • Hey -- quick question,is frequent fainting the only symptom she is experiencing (apart from the depression)? My friend has the same thing -- it's been going on for god knows how long, but in the past month its been getting increasingly worse and more frequent. They are coming more than 5 times a day and noone knows what is going on. It's as if she is loosing control of her body. She's only 16, healthy and athletic, but her fainting is getting increasingly worse.
