I have had a rash on the underside of my one nostril and on the one side of my lips (opposite side of my face than the nostril rash). The rash is not on my lips - just to the side of it. I have had this rash for 2 months now.

This type of rash has occurred once before (about 2 years ago) in the same areas on my face and lasted for months. It is not contagious as my fiance has been kissing me this entire time and he doesn't have it. It is itchy with pimple bumps (looks like a blister or white head pimple). The skin is red and flakes.

Does anyone know what this could be and what I can do to treat it?

Thanks in advance.

  • i would go see a dermatologist, as they can both identify and treat it.

  • From what you've described, I have the exact same thing right now. It just appeared out of nowhere and has not gone away easily. If you talked to a dermatologist, what did he tell you?

If you talked to a dermatologist, what did he tell you?I have the exact same thing and it is driving me nuts! At first i thought I was getting a zit or a little acne so I started being more diligent about washing and used an astringent for a few days, it dried out and flaked a bit and i thought that was the end of it but a day later, lo and behold, the yucky red, bumpy patch was back. After that i just went with my regular routine as far as cleansing (which has always been pretty basic) and have been trying not to touch it. Unfortunately, its been 2 months now and no change....

  • My daughter has a lot of skin problems and i would tell you to buy a anti bacterial soap and use that before you go to bed. try not to wear any make up creams or lotions. This usually helps your skin will start to dry and peel which might not look very great at the time but it will go away once the skin starts to flake off. If this doesn't work go see a dermatologist they really help.

  • it sounds like it could possibly be perioral dermatitis.
