I have a problem with my eyes and was wondering if you can help as i'm getting really worried. Around 12 days ago my left eye started feeling differently(not necessarily sore). I felt i was seeing a slightly cloudy or lighter area out of the bottom left corner of my left eye. I went to the optician and he said my eyes were fine and no sign of infection etc.

After the symptoms gradually got a little worse - i started getting pain and stinging in both eyes and sometimes a little sore, i went to the doctor and he said i had the signs of conjunctivitis. He gave me chloramphenicol for this.

However, everywhere i seem to read about conjunctivitis, the symptoms are nothing like i have. My eyes aren't pink or red although they do seem a little milky coloured on the lid at the bottom. I also don't feel like my eyes are gritty at all.

My left eye seems worse than the right, although i do feel it in both now when initially i felt it in the left eye only

Does this sound like conjunctivitis? Or can it be something else?

Thanks for your help
