Hello, I am a 37 year old female and I have been sick since November 15 and it's now December 29. I've been a really healthy person my whole life. I exercise and eat well and maintain a healthy weight. I was working full-time until recently, because I can't even stand up anymore. It started with swollen glands and a sore throat as well as white spots on my tonsils. My doctor gave me Penicillin and I actually got better and was well for several days. Then beginning December 1 I got a really bad headache and sore throat. I later developed a little bit of a cough and congestion, which passed within a few days. This time they put me on a second round of antibiotics but it didn't help. After that I got increasingly fatigued as time went on. I was barely able to function by mid December and so I took some days off work. On December 21 I felt really awful and lost full energy and was pretty much just staying in bed most of the time. On December 24 tried to go to the grocery store and collapsed and ended up in the ER. After several tests, they couldn't find anything wrong with me. I took a monospot and the Epstein Barr labs and both were negative. I took an HIV test which was also negative and my white and red blood cells were at a normal count. I also had about 4 or 5 doctor appointments during this time in which more labs were taken, all with normal results. I've been bed ridden now for several days with the weakness growing worse over time. I have a consistent migraine that never goes away, I am very dizzy when I stand, I am extremely weak and very fatigued. In the morning it takes me about two hours just to wake up. I have a family member taking care of me now. The doctor says it could be just a very bad virus. It seems like I've went backwards from yesterday to today for no reason whatsoever and am weaker. It doesn't make sense. Can anybody help me to understand?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
