Please help. Since I was about 12 years old I’ve experienced extreme fatigue and weakness when exercising. It has happened about 7 times since (27 now) that after only a few minutes of exercise I feel a fainting sensation followed by drowsiness. I’ve been embarrassed to tell anyone since I’m an overweigh male and often times avoid exercise due to the fear of fainting. Is this just because I’m completely out of shape or is it something more serious that I should be worried about?

However whilst researching, I am convinced it has something to do with how the cells in the muscles metabolize carbohydrates (glycogen), (or in some cases fats). I came across something called Metabolic Muscle Diseases which are 10 different rare genetic faults i which affect the metabolism in your muscles. Due to the age it started with you and the acuteness, its is definitely worth investigating. I suggest you get it checked out. Other names given, or worth googling are Pompes Disease, Coris/Forbes Disease, Tauris Disease and McArdles Disease. Good Luck.
