I'm a 32year old females of 5.6", 218 pounds. For the last 8 months or so I've been suffering with bouts of heartburn, gas and indigestion which has been fairly manageable with diet and zantac and gaviscon. Since this started I've gone on 3 different diets one was the lemon juice cleanse, the other was a fruit and vegetable and the third was a naturopath directed detox which included herbal daily cleansing with lots of fruits and vegetables during the day as well as whole grain. Just before I started the last cleanse I started feeling throat closing sensations. Seem to occur around the time I ate food. Started thinking it was allergies and had a hard time eating for fear, not know exactly what I was allergic to. However after a doctor supervised fast in the hospital this week we see that the throat spams still occur. He's diagnosed them as esophogal spasms due to reflux. Right now I'm on Domphy (for the reflux) and omeprazole and duspamen for acid and gas. My symptoms are the following, pressure in middle of chest, mouth full with bile, heat sensations in chest, stomach upset, heartburn, throat tightness (choking sensation), jaw tightness. I seem to also be having some ear and sinus problems the INternist thinks is unrelated. I've seen and ENT who has been able to resolve it. Those feelings are as follows: ticking sound in ear and head, audible to persons sitting next to me. Pressure in nose, blocked nose feeling.
If anyone can shed light on this array of ailments I would appreciate it. This is ruining my life.

  • I would not be surprised if they were side effects of the drugs you were given. I would try chamomile tea, 1 cup before each meal. I've heard second-hand testimony to its effectiveness. I also heard doctors recommending it.
