For the last 6 weeks, every day feels like I ran a marathon the day before, and I know how that feels. Upper legs and calf muscles, hip flexors, back of the arms and shoulders painful to move or stretch. Except I have been sedentary for the preceeding 2 months. Initially doctor and I thought it was due to statin medication but have been off it for 5 weeks. No indication of worsening, no indication of improvement. Manageable with 800 mg ibuprofen.

Only real guess is late stage Lyme- was treated twice for confirmed infection, but that was 10 years ago.

Baffled. Thoughts?

  • umm .... it could be fibromyalgia which alot of us who have been diagnosed with it feel is not real... because your whole entire body is in pain 24/7 but all of the trusted tests come back negative.. i got diagnosed with it a couple months ago but i have been sick for a lil over 4 years. i am still goin to the doctor - i just started goin to a rheumatologist and i think after she gets to kno me better we might be able to see what is really goin on... u should look into seein one

  • It could definately be advanced Lyme Disease, ESPECIALLY if you had comfirmed infections twice in the past. How long were you on antibiotics for each of the past infections? Were any tests ordered after to confirm the elimination of the bacteria? Unfortunately Lyme Disease is one of those things that can take a LONG, LONG time to treat; if you had a significant infection in the past and doctors only put you on antibiotics for a week or so, that probably wasn't enough. Some people apparently need to be on antibiotics for months if not YEARS because of a chronic infection. This is definately something you need to investigate immediately, before it gets any worse. Consider a neurologist and infectious disease specialist in addition to your normal doctor.
