My son is almost 11 months old. At birth he had elevated CRP levels & the doctors were unable to determine why. He also had a slight case of jaundice, no lamps needed.
He has had a clogged tear duct since birth which became infected with MRSA at 2wks old. He had a round of Clindamycin and stayed overnight in the hospital at that time. We continued with the Clinda at home and also applied Erythromycin ointment to his eyes. It seemed to clear up but then returned. There was yellow/green discharge from the eye. We had multiple trips to the Ophthalmologist, pediatrician, etc. Eventually he was prescribed the poly-trim drops. They did not help. He had surgery and had the duct probed. This did not help. He was prescribed another round of Clinda by the ophthalmologist. After that did not work I got a referral to an infectious disease doctor who prescribed Zyvox and Bactroban (applied to nostrils). Then he got thrush (he is formula fed, Similac). He was prescribed Nystatin for that last Monday.
I began noticing the yellowing of the nails and was wondering what might cause this?
He has also had diarrhea for about a week now (may be due to a stomach virus we all had, maybe not). And today when I was giving him his thrush meds he didn't cry, push me away, or react as he usually does. I also accidentally zipped a bit of his skin in his coat and didn't realize it at first because he did not react.
I should also mention that he's been growing very well. He was born at 39 weeks 2 days, weighing 8 lbs 7 oz and was 20 in. At almost 11 months he is 23lbs and 30in.
Please help me figure out what's going on with him.
