I have had chronic diarrhea for 2 months, along with stomach pain, and weight loss. I had a colonoscopy, and an endoscopy. The Dr. said I have Duodenitis, an inflamed small intestine. So he prescribed Creon. Well this pill is horrible, it causes mental mood changes, a massive headache, and horrible stomach pains. He also told me to take Align. Well I can only hold food until the next day, and the pain is still there. Is there anything else to take to heal my intestine, besides that horrible medication? This pill is made from pigs, and although the pain was gone for 2 hours, the side effects are not worth it. I still take Align, and prevacide but I can't take much more of this.. Would love some advise.....Thanks....

This should have been the first step, and is often overlooked for the more expensive colonoscopies and endoscopies. Parasites should not be overlooked, and a stool test done over several days period will be more accurate. I don't understand your statement "I can only hold food until the next day" - can you describe your stool patterns in more detail? DOM

They tested for all the stuff you mentioned, and they were all negative. Holding food over night means That I can eat only toast and chicken, then when I wake up I have diarreaha ( or how ever you spell it.). The Align worked for a week, and now the pain is back, and I go to the bathroom at least 3 times a day. Isn't there any other pill to calm dowm my intestine besides Creon? Maybe the health food store might carry the enzyme my body needs. The align made my stools normal, but now, they are not. It is very stressful to have this all the time. Any advise you have is appreciated... Thank you.....

Any advise you have is appreciated... Thank you..... Have they ruled out celiac disease? It is becoming increasingly common. As someone who has suffered with colitis due to clostridium difficile infection I know what you are going thru. IMO western trained docs do a poor job treating gastrointestinal issues. I am a Chinese medical practitioner and cured my c. diff. infection with Chinese herbs and very good quality PROBIOTICS. Align is a probiotic, but IMO it is not the best out there. Please find a good quality probiotic that contains acidophilus, rhamnosus, bifidus bifidum, and others. A good healthfood store will carry this. Take a double dose until your symptoms improve. Then take the regular dose continually to keep your flora in balance. Sheng Ling Bai Zhu Tang is a chinese herbal formula for diarrhea. It is not meant to be used long term, but is very good to regulate the intestines. You might also do well with oil of oregano capsules - this is very effective for GI issues that are fungal in nature... I highly recommend trying acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to help get you back in balance. I have treated countless patients for unexplained GI disorders...it really works! Best wishesDOM

Is there any kind of pill beside Creon that could help? I think I need an enzyme to stop the pain and irritation. Is this caused from stress? I only weigh 109, and I am 5'5", so it seems to be getting worse. HELP..... Thank you very much.....
