A relative is complaining that his ear wax has become dried and scaly.
He suspects it might be something contracted by using the spongy earplugs made in China.
The medicine given to him by an ear, nose and throat specialist, only softens the wax temporarily. The problem returns when he stops using the medicine.
Any suggestions appreciated.

  • I would suggest you not to allow him/her use the made in china ear buds. They are definitely not made out of sterile cotton. Use the proper sterile ear swabs.:)

Does he have any other symptoms, like dry skin, rashes, nasal congestion, sinus problems, digestion issues, constipation? DOM

  • I would expect it's the earplugs if he is continuing to use them. My ears get the same way because I wear a headset all day at work. I have to started switching the ear-speaker from one ear to the other throughout the day and it has greatly reduced the problem. The ears need to "breathe" properly.
