I have severe joint pain and I have been going to the doctor since Jan 10 to get help. It does not respond to over the counter meds, Tylenol w/ codeine or naproxen. I was give percocets and that only works for a few hours. I have most pain in my knees and hips. I was told I have bursitis in both hips. I got the cortisone injection and now it is worse than before and I walk with a limp on both sides. Even my jaw and my fingers hurt. I am in pain everyday and can't do basic things like walk or housework without ending up in the bed all day. I am 221lbs after dropping down from 248lbs. I do have depression but this pain seems worst than that. I was tested for rheumatoid arthritis and all my basic blood work came back normal and even the x ray of my hips. I feel like I am crazy or just at the wrong doctor. Please help I want my life back.:confused::confused:

It's possible the extra weight is part of the cause of the knee and hip pain as well as the busitis. Your main problem is inflammation which would be caused by a variety of factors. Best of luck to you!

An elevated number would suggest something like an ongoing infection (parvo, maybe) or SLE. Do you live in a wooded area, or have animals that go outside? Lyme disease is generally the first thing everybody thinks of when it comes to joint pain. If it's bursitis, at least in your hips, take high doses of ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory; should work significantly better than Tylenol. And go see a rheumatologist. If it's been this long, something is definitely wrong.

  • Get your vitamin D level checked.. this can add to issues and make joint pain worst if low. Fibromyalgia?? http://arthritis.about.com/b/2005/07/20/fibromyalgia-trigger-points.htm is your knee pain more in the inner knee area, in the fibromyalgia trigger point area? i used to have to sleep with a cushion between my knees due to having Fibromyalgia as it hurt to much to sleep on side with knees touching together. fibromyalgia patients may also get pain in other places other than the fibro trigger points (I used to get it in my fingers too) Fibro pain often moves about, hurting some areas one day and other areas the next.. you havent mentioned yours doing that so i arent sure if its probably fibromyalgia you have (i think you may have something else but do look into fibromyalgia in case to see if it fits).
