My good friend who has HIV has been having double vision in one eye, he has had a ct scan and an mri done. they seem to have found a growth in his sphenoid sinus and think that may be the cause... any ideas as to another cause? the doctors want to remove the growth which is not know whether it is a tumor or fluid from an infection... any help would be much appreciated God bless....

  • "There are critical structures such as the nerves for vision and major blood vessels that carry blood to and from the brain which lie in close proximity to the sphenoid sinuses. Therefore surgery in this area carries special risks" I would like to think they were sure BEFORE they did surgery. But then this area is so close to the brain, any infection (fungal or bacterial/viral) would have serious consequences. Have they tried antibiotics etc?
