  • dear fragileheart.. I was researching phaeochromocytoma as a possibility of my diagnosis.I also looked into Cushing's. I was also wrongly diagnosed with carcinoid cancer. I had chronic fatigue syndrome. check out a list of symptoms for that illness. chances are you have it. Try to find NAET or BioSET therapy as a way tpo relieve all of your symptoms. every symptom is caused from allergies. They manifest in many different ways... not just coughing, sneezing ect.. wishing you the best mommy cat

  • The diagnosis procedure for a pheochromocytoma is a 24 urine collection where they look for the metabolites of increased levels of epinephrine/norepinephrine (often called a catecholamines). If this is positive, they will then do a scan or your adrenal gland to locate the tumor although in some cases the tumor is in another location. Also,an adrenal tumor can also cause Cushing’s disease although the tumor is in a different location. Usually, a pheochrmocytoma will cause weight loss, extremely high blood pressure, and tachycardia and is most often suspected in a young person who develops high blood pressure with no apparent cause. Have you had a thyroid function test? Have you ever been on corticosteroids (beclomethasone, prednisolone, dexamethasone, there’s a few others with similar names) for another problem? The doctor can do a blood test to detect abnormal levels of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone or corticotropin) and corticosteroid levels which are markers for Cushing’s. I hope this helps, don’t give up and keep trying with your doctor and get a second opinion if your current doctor refuses to help. LRayne

  • do you know if you could have high cholestrol too??? Has that been tested? and have you had a diabetes test? if not.. you could have other issues you dont currently realise you have and.. maybe you could have metabolic syndrome/syndrome x???? (it's a far shot.. but may be worth a mention due to you having 2 of the main features of it). my stomach is bulging sometimes this is called "central obesity" and it can be present in certain medical conditions including the one i mentioned above which also can cause high BP.
