  • I posted on this a few days ago to you so I cut and pasted my original response. It still stands. If you are really serious about getting help for your condition I think this advice may help...if not it is not nice to post so many times with the same problem and ignore advice. "First, How old are you? Are you a woman? It may be anxiety attacks and panic attacks. Don't worry, there is help out there. If you are a women late thirties and on up you may be in perimenopause and or menopause. You can try power-surge.com for menopause issue advice. Many, many doctors are not up on how hormonal fluctuations during perimenopause and menopause can effect the heart and how Hormonal fluctuations as this time can cause panic and anxiety with heart palpitations....it is very common. Let me know your age and sex..." Joan

  • Ok, you are a young man so given that here are a few thoughts and questions: 1. do you have any other physical symptoms? Headaches, hand tremors, digestive issues? Do you get dizzy or feel like you are going to faint...that could be orthostatic intollerance (blood pressue can't adjust too quickly when you change position quickly from down to up....) Any little thing that might lay clue to some physical condition? 2. Are you taking ANY kinds of drugs? Over the counter or under.... 3. or even any kinds of vitamins? Herbals? even vitamins may contain binders that you might be sensitive to..... 4. FOODS: Doctors often over look this....you may not have actually allergies that can be "tested" but you may have sensitivities. SO>>>>Does this happen when you eat certain things? You can even have a reaction to certain foods and digested things DAYS after you have eaten them.....Monosodium glutimate (sp) is found in LOTS of foods give palpitations to some people. For me I got palpitations with foods that contained a lot of iodine...like McDonalds Hamburgers for instance! Lost of processed foods does this....Sodium, even herbals may have an effect on you if you are sensitive to them....I am sensitive to cinnamon beleive it or not! So food and diet is something to look into. So here are a few suggestions. Do write back. All this being said, it is NOT weakness if you are in fact having anxiety and may need intervention there. It is just your particular makeup and that is the way you are. The point is to get well, and do whatever it may take so that you can live a more enjoyable life without this worry....you are young and probably basically healthy....and more than one doctor has tested and reasssured you that is it not your heart so you know that organ is basically healthy....keep that in mind...I have confidence that you will find the cause and be ok!....Joan

  • Well, I wanted to follow through, but I am sad that you did not seem to read or explore my suggestions or answer my post very well. You keep posting the same thing over and over and posting many times...sometimes within 10 minutes!. You say all blood tests and so forth are normal. You may have something else that is causing the palpitations. I mentioned a few and if you are serious, why are you not exploring them or thinking about them? But if you are so worried and unsatisfied with your doctors, then seek out another doctor until you are throughly satisfied. In any case, you are posting a LOT on the same topic and concern. You may have a heart problem, I can't answer to that, I am not a doctor just a person like you, but you are certainly having health anxiety. Can it cause the symtpoms you are listing...yes I believe it can. You may want to speak to your regular doctor or a phychiatrist and explore the possibility of anxiety medication and talk therapy. If it were me I would definitely NOT recommend a spiritual healer... If you are serious about getting well, then I suggest you stick with proven medical science. I don't think I can help you any more...I don't know enough about the particulars of heart palpitation more than what I listed. I wish you well.

  • Thanks JoanI Will Look Into The Advice U Have Given Me,these Are My First Times In A Trhead Like This I Apologize For Posting Diffrent Threads I Didnt Know You Could Actually Post In The Same One I Will Try And Do That Now From Here On:)

  • i strongly suggest to post any new results on one of your threads already here.. people get tired of reading many threads by the same person... and it does come across as being rude. From your posts.. I know you said in one of your posts that you dont have anxiety.. but your posts to me.. come across that you do definately have some anxiety going on.. so to say you havent.. well it appears you are in denial about how anxious you are. (i are not discounting that you may have other issues going on too.. but you are anxious). If anxiety is causing your symptoms.. the way you are currently being, IS likely to make it worst eg the more anxious you are, the more symptoms you get.. so you get even more anxious. Anxiety can make the heart race. The palpitations in that test which happened while you were asleep, may of just been cause of you having a nightmare (as you are anxious over all this). If you are getting panic attacks.. one can learn to control these. I used to get panic attacks with a conditon i have and I over come them by regular meditation and learning how to stop them the INSTANT I could feel one about to come on (mine used to happen out of the blue..often over ridiculous things! and occassionly over never at all). (you need to stop one BEFORE it suddenly goes to full blown panic..as once it's panic.. it's hard to do anything to stop it). If you feel like your heart is about to race or that you are about to have trouble breathing... start taking slow and deep breaths.. focusing on slower breathing. Also start thinking of a place which is calm and relaxing to you. (I think of myself on a tropical beach by palm trees. watching a calm ocean on a sunny day and hearing the water gently come in and out). Choose a visualisation which calms you and focus on it.. the sights there, the sounds there and the smells there. If you havent managed to stop the panic attack before it got full blown (there is often only a split second of an instant to do that).. well just focus on slowing down your breath and start counting slowly and focus on the count. by the way..some people who aint sick at all.. can hear their own pulse at times. I have a friend who this is completely normal for............... That 24 hr urine test you mentioned.. was done to check for adrenal hormones.. in case it was your adrenal glands causing your symptoms (my doctors have given me the same test). It sounds as if you have good doctors seeing they thought to do that (most doctors wouldnt).

  • TANIAAUSTFirst of all i apologize for posting diffrent threads it was my first time in here and i didnt know i could post in the same thread i didnt know how it worked i apologize. Now secondly i appreciate ur advice u have really taken the time to read all my threads and put them together and give me some good info.now i do think i get anxiety and pannick attacks but i think their brought on by something else.u see when i start to feel like i cant breath i start to like hyperventilate i guess, but as soon as i get this feeling that i recognize now, i start to try and breath slower like u say but at the same time i feel like a weird sensation in my chest like if its my heart like pumping very slowbecause i feel it pounding hard in my chest but like its slow because of two much air in my lungs,u now how the more air u inhale the slower the heartbeats well that what i feel.Well anyways just this morning i received a call from a speacialist a ELECTROPHIOLOGIST if i spelled it right ,that Ive been seeing i guess he checks the energy inside ur heart well anyways he called and said if i wanted to get a EPT TEST STUDY, what he explained it is a needle or tube that he puts through one of my arteries and goes into my heart and checks if my energy is good inside. Now im a little scared to get this done because he said that their are chances he wont find anything wrong and theirs like a 99% chanses that everything will be okay but what about the other 1% u see.Anyways he wants to do this because he put a holter on me for 24 hours and my heartbeats are a little fast and i have seen many drs and they cant find anything wrong with me.Now since i seen this Dr and he told me about this test i went in and saw another cardiologist who also does this studies and recommended me that i didnt need this test so i dont know what to do who should i listen to this dr. says its anxiety.NOW im confused becaus one specialist says one thing and the other something else.NOW i still keep feeling bad because sometimes just by moving or turning in my sleep, the pounding in my chest and palpitations wake me up.I dont know if i mentioned that i am a auto smog tech in CA for emissions and have been working in this profession for 5 years i dont know if this affects my lungs ive had many xrays perfomed and ct scans in my chest but what do u think.I have been out of work now for 3 weeks and keep feeling the same.

  • I wasn't sure I should post here again, but Elias, have you followed up on any of the suggestions I made or the other posters made? If you have not (and it doesn't look like you have), I suggest you reread the posts....many of us put time and effort to help you. Follow up with your doctor on some of them....THEN post back with more questions....why don't you try that first? Joan

  • Hi I went to the ER with the same symptoms a couple of years ago and I was diagnosed with "acute costochondritis" Just do some research on that and see if that helps you. I may have mis-spelled it a bit, like I said it was a couple of years ago. I hope that helps you. God Bless
