I’m a 20 year old female and I have been having health problems for a few years now. It began with repeat kidney infections and frequent urinary tract infections, then I stopped having a period for 6 months. All tests showed nothing wrong. I was having trouble sleeping, waking up and I was tired all the time, Sleep lab diagnosed me with sleep apnea. Then one day I got a terrible headache and my heart rate was above 160 blood pressure remained fine. Heart is constantly 112-120. For about a year now I have had terrible muscle pain most painful at night. I am now having balance problems, tingling, numbness, and over sensitivity to pain, heat, or cold. I’ve had to go to Physical Therapy due to muscles tightening and impacting daily movements. I also have a swollen spot about 3 inches long on my wrist/arm that the doctor has no idea about, the arm that its on constantly drops things and jumps, but doesn’t cause pain. If anyone has any ideas please let me know, thanks.

  • My resting heart rate is also high but higher when I'm standing. I tested negative for Lyme, and the swollen spot on my wrist is more oblong or rectangular. I'm currently taking Lamictal and Abilify, but I was taking them long before this all started, and yes I do take birth control. And there are no cell phone towers or anything for miles, as I live in the middle of nowhere. Thanks for all the help so far everyone.

  • Lamictal and birth control pills can both cause skin rashes, and it can be a delayed phenomenon.

  • Lamictal and birth control pills can both cause skin rashes, and it can be a delayed phenomenon. Ah, Richard you beat me to it;). If you could mention exactly when you went on the bc and the meds it would be helpful. Often side effects of medications are cumulative. Which bc are you on? What is your occupation? Which wrist is affected - your dominant wrist? Best wishesDOM
