I've had a strange problem for about 7 years now it's been getting worse by time.
I see a double ghost vision but only going upwards. Also only bright objects are
effected.. It gets worse at night and it never goes away. I've been to various eye doctors and had 2 MRI's done on my head. It effects both eyes but mostly the left eye. None of my doctors have ever heard of this problem nor know what it is..

  • This is a condition known as palinopsia and relates to positive persistence of vision. It is most often encountered in persons who also have migrainous syndrome or are under chronic stress, but also can occur in the absence of any other underlying condition. Reports of increased incidence associated with certain medications can also be a causitive factor. It is actually related to the brain and not the eyes. Palinopsia does not represent a symptom of an underlying disease or problem. Best regards, J Cottle, MD
