Hi, im a 19 year old female and up untill a few months ago i was perfectly healthy. Since July26th (almost 4 months ago) ive been dizzy and lightheaded. Also ive been feeling very weak. This is on and off and some days i am fine, but other days i cant get out of bed. It usualy lasts for 3 days then im fine for a few days then its back. Sometimes im very dizzy but sometimes its more of a weird feeling in my head. Like a pressure feeling or almost a fog, its so hard to explain. Ihave had SO many tests.. CT ,blood work, thyroid, electrolyte , ear pressure..EVERYHTING was perfect. Im not anemic and i dont have any allergies. I just dont get what this is, ive been to my Family Doctor so many times i think i am starting to annoy him. Also ive been to an ENT (ear nose throat dr). Im going friday to have a Balance (ENG) Test done. ANyone have any ideas what this could be?! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Are you SLEEPY? What is usually going on when you get dizzy (for example are you running, or laughing, or anything consistent?) When you can't get out of bed is it because you don't have the strength or are you very sleepy...

  • I feel really weak sometimes which is when i cant (or dont want to) get out of bed. My Dr. put me on B12 to see if that helps at all. Ive been taking it for 2weeks now but i havent noticed a difference. The dizziness is strange. Its only been the kind of dizzy where the room spins about 3 times and that wasonly in the morning when i first woke up. Its just usually this weird feeling in my head like pressure or almost that my head feels full..or in a fog. It comes and goes usualy lastsfor about 3 days then im fine for a few days then it comes back. TOday i feel totally fine....but last friday-tuesday i felt horrible.

  • Have you been worked up for MS?Another thing to look into is thyroid antibodies. The doctors won't check them unless they know about a rare condition called hashimoto's encephalopathy, which can cause balance problems, fatigue, mental fog, etcAntibodies are not the same thing as hormones and docotrs don't check them until your hormone levels come back abnormal, so I bet your have NOT been checked. Ask your neurologist to work you up for hashimoto's encephalopathy. Tell him/her that most patients who have it have normal TSH, T4, T3, etc. They need to test THYROID ANTIBODIES.Good luck to you. Please keep pus posted!

  • You are kind of young for it, but look up benign positional vertigo and do the movements on the floor as suggested. Can't hurt.
