Recently I have come back from California, and about a week after I came back I came down with a fever, nausea, and a cough. It has been almost 5 days since I first felt ill, with none of my symptoms getting worse but a few don't seem to go away.

I am still sometimes nauseous, dizzy, faint, have gas, and have still have a weak heartbeat.

I don't know why but after I fell ill I noticed my heart's beat became weaker, and sometimes I will feel faint/dizzy (and I think it's because of that). Sometimes, I also feel like my heart stops, and at that point I feel really faint, but I've never actually been able to feel my heart in time to measure if it really had. It may just be in my head, as I am told I'm quite paranoid.

Well, that's about it. I simply don't know what this is. The symptoms are nothing out of the ordinary, but the thing that has had be concerned is their long-lastedness as well as my weak heartbeat/faintness.

Any help is much appreciated.

I have not seen a doctor yet, my parents don't think the symptoms are serious enough, and they think my heart problem is in my head.

  • It sounds like you have an anxiety disorderCheck out this site and see if you have any other symptoms.http://www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety-symptoms.shtml?gclid=CPmc9qHp85gCFQ7aDAodvn112AThe symptoms you stated are the most common symptoms of an anxiety disorder in it's early stages. I have a really bad anxiety disorder, and I remember feeling those exact same things before I even knew for sure.Don't worry though, it's not ACTUALLY physically affecting you if it's an anxiety disorder, although medical science doesn't quite know the exact mental cause for a lot of the symptoms. And if you start to feel your symptoms, just stop focusing on them, and see if they go away. If they do, then it's most likely an anxiety disorder. You said that you are told that you are a somewhat paranoid person, and so am I. Perhaps this is the cause of an anxiety disorder, or maybe the effect.Just go see a doctor as soon as possible, to rule out other possibilities like a heart condition (you mentioned something about your heart beat seeming odd) and then ask your doctor if it's possible that your symptoms are from an anxiety disorder. He may refer you to a psychologist if he suspects an anxiety disorder may be what's causing these symptoms.Anyways, I hope I helped.Take it easy.
