Hi, I'm a 18 year old male
About a year ago, the frequency of my bowel movements started to decrease. It gradually went from 1 bowel movement a day to 1 per every 3 days. My lifestyle/diet didnt change during this time. My bowel movements also became more difficult.
This is kind of hard to explain but ill try my best. Most of times when I have a bowel movement, I am constipated. When I have an urge to go, the first "log" passes easily. However, if I try to excrete more, it becomes harder, even though I can feel that my bowel is not yet empty. All the subsequent feces that I am able to pass are also very thin and small (small diameter and length). Another pattern I noticed is that about every 2 weeks or so, I would experience a bout of diarrhea. I am also very underweight, and it is quite impossible for me to gain any.
I visited a gastroenterology some months ago, but he didnt provide me with much help. He did some blood tests and tested some stool sample. All he told me at the end was that it could be irritated bowel syndrome.
I'm sorry if this was overly disgusting...but any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.
