Hi,
About six months ago I started having difficulty inhaling breaths. Only some breaths. the onset was sudden. I have had multiple lung and heart test and nothing is positive. I have tried taking bronchodilators but it didnt make one bit of difference.

The D Dimer was high but it wasnt too high. so the doctor did a US on my legs and ruled out pulmonary embolism. I am not sure what it is. but if anyone has similar symptoms please let me know.

Again its hard to describe, but it feels like i have no problem when inhaling normal volume of air, but when I take sighs or deep breaths I cant do that satisfyingly.

thanks

  • I have this as well - since August. I was under a lot of stress - 32 year old female - doctor gave me a steroid and that took it away while I was on the steroid and it came back right after I finished the pack. I have had breathing tests, and I do feel like I have heartburn but I really don't think I do - I think it is a symptom - it's not GERD. I eat well - just cut out caffenine to see if this makes a difference. No diagonosis...

  • Check out PVCD or Paradoxical Vocal Cord Dysfunction. It happens mostly in women. The vocal cords don't work quite right when under stress emotionally or physically. Check out this article: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC164364/Hi,About six months ago I started having difficulty inhaling breaths. Only some breaths. the onset was sudden. • I have same problems but I am prone to allergies and sinusitis so the symptoms used to come back during change of season...I started using humidifier so that my nostrils are moisturized and it works pretty well for me. Whenever I am around the humidifier or humid climate the symptoms never come back.

  • I have this aswell. The onset was sudden when I was about 15. I am 23 now and have had it quite badly ever since. I also feel like it is similar to heartburn sometimes and it is much worse when lying down. I had whooping cough as a child so maybe I was susceptible to something like this.If you have this then trust me, DONT SMOKE ANYTHING EVER.
