A few months ago, I went to the hospital thinking I had a kidney infection due to extreme pain in my back. While I was there, they found pneumonia along with a 2.5 renal cyst on my left kidney, and a left ovarian cyst as well. They also said that my right kidney had hydronephrosis and appeared quite larger than the left. My blood work showed low potassium and no protein. They treated the pneumonia, but never followed up with the kidney issues. I was in ICU and the hospital for a week.
I went to my family doctor after, where he sent me to a different hospital to run tests. Blood work came up fine, and CT scans showed NO cysts or abnormalities. I'm worried and think I should get another opinion. If they're gone, that's great, but kidney issues run in the family.
