My ten-year old daughter has ongoing issues with large, smelly stools, abdominal bloating before a bowel movement, and gas issues as well.

She has had problems with constipation in the past, but now she does have bowel movements about every other day, so I don't think the diagnosis is constipation. Could a milk allergy cause these symptoms?

  • Sure, a milk allergy can cause those issues. See the pediatrician and have them test your daughter's IgE for wheat, milk, corn, soy, etc. A simple test - you should have the results in about 2 weeks.
