I have been complaining of severe hair loss for years now. Recently I realised that I get exhausted very soon and that my legs ache much more than normal. Also sleeplessness became a growing concern as I was hardly able to sleep for 2 or 3 hours. To make matters worse, in Sep-2008 I started getting panic attacks, specially in my sleep, accompanied with heart palpitations and stiffness of hands and legs. I consulted a doctor and got my thyroid tests done alongwith almost all hormone tests. All reports were normal according to the doctors and they suggested pscychiatric treatment for me. For past 5 months I am on antidepressants .Things are fine at the moment but I am not sure of the diagnosis made for me. I was a very strong person otherwise and I can hardly believe this diagnosis. My TSH was 6.35ulU/ml and Free T4 1.9ng/dl. I want to consult another doctor and get all the tests done but I am apprehensive about the outcome.

You need to make an appointment with an Endocrinologist. Have them run some tests on you and tell them your symptoms. Also look up Grave's Disease....you have alot of the symptoms.I am experiencing the same things as you are and anxiety and Grave's seem to produce the same symptoms. I my case I believe my symptoms are due to my anxiety and mental health, but this might not be the same for you.
