I am very concerned about my father. He is 59, and has been experiencing sleeplessness, severe itching with no obvious cause, as well as no relief. His vision fails him at times, he has lost weight even though he eats more than enough and has had bouts of anxiety. He gets up almost every night to have a jam sandwich because he craves something sweet, he also sometimes drives to the shop late at night to buy a chocolate. The pharmacist suggested diabetes, so he had is glucose levels tested yesterday. The test revealed nothing out of the ordinary, and indicated normal glucose levels. Are these tests accurate? If not diabetes, what else could it be?
