Deteriorating Arm Pain Problem (esp when raising it)

I am wondering if there is any treatment that will reduce or resolve my problem. I have arm pain when I raise my arm or engage in activity in certain arm positions. The problem may well be a 'trapped nerve' in my neck and if this is so, I am not sure there is any effectiove treatment. The condition started in my shoulder and has deteriorated into all the arm and also slight stiffness now in my neck and slight head pain. All on the left side. I also recently had an injection for a slipped disk back problem which may indicate susceptability to the neck/arm prolem. I have had a back problem for 2/3 years but my arm/shoulder started to effect me about 12 months ago. I now also have a general ache most of the time in my arm and find it difficult to find any position to sleep without discomfort.
I am returning to live in the UK in a months time and have dcided to seek treatment there, but I dont know if anything can actually work?
Any comments/advice very welcome.
