In the last 9 months I have had 7 abcesses in various places that needed draining, the last one was done yesterday.

The surgeons have not been able to find the cause & this morning actually said I was doing it to myself?????

Please, does anyone know what it could be, I'm desperate

For a medical doctor to say you're doing this to yourself is just horrible!! He sounds like an idiot to me!

All my life I've suffered from severe stomach pains but was written off as hypochondriac, it just feels as if this is their way of not having to admit something is wrong. Could my stomach pains be related as the majority of the abcesses appear abdominally?

I know what it's like to have doctors look at you like you're crazy or imagining things or making stuff up for attention. I know what it's like to have my pain written off as 'psychological'. I spent 15 months and went to 8 different doctors to finally get the right dx of fibromyalgia and I actually dxed myself first from seeing a famous fibro doctor on tv explaining the illness. I then had it confirmed by a rheumatologist. These days we really have to be our own advocates for our health. I hope the doctors can find the right antibiotic to kill off that mess of bacteria that keep causing those abscesses!
