For more than 2 months I have been experiencing vaginal itch, vaginal swelling (sort of like a rash), painful sexual intercourse, constant vaginal discharge with a weird smell. I visited my doctor had my pap smear done and everything came out ok. The doctor told me that I had a urine infection and a vaginal fungus due to the heat. He perscribed vaginal cream which I could never use because every time I tryed using it the pain and internal itch was awful. He also perscribed uretron which I finished completely. I'm concerned because the situation is very uncomfortable for me and my husband who has been very patient with me. Can anyone that has experienced this before help me out.

  • Try to get a prescription for Diflucan. (no, I don't sell the stuff). That should take care of the fungus. I haven't heard of prescribing Uretron (methylene blue) for a urinary tract infection for a long time. There are various homeopathic remedies also for fungi but I think they take more time.

  • i get this all the time and diflucan is the answer.once you get it under control, you can help prevent it by eating lots of garlic, always peeing after intercourse and making sure that your husband... how to put this politely... never ejaculates inside of you. i think that condoms make it worse. washing your parts with an iodine solution in the shower also helps a lot. i usually tend to take natural remedies for things but have yet to find anything else that works.if the diflucan does not help, it could be an allergic reaction to something that your husband eats or takes. i am very allergic to codeine and had this reaction when my husband was once prescribed it.letting your husband know that it's because of him is a good way to increase his patience and keep you from feeling too frustrated. it's also a good way to get a clean kitchen and a back rub.

  • Does your husband use a condom? Latex allergy.

  • I have a friend who had similar symptoms, and was helped enormously by changes to her diet. She cut out wheat and sugar, and took a strong probiotic, and the infections she had suffered from for years went away.It may not help, but can't hurt to try!
