my 10 year old daughter has had chest pains for 2 years, we have ran all tests and everything was fine. She was diagnosed with Group A Strep 3 weeks ago, but the symptoms have not gone away, she has never carried a fever. We took her back last week and they ran blood tests all came back ok. She has blood blisters growing in her mouth, very tired and cold all the time, complains of pain in her ears and lower stomach areas, swollen glands. I am very worried, but the doctor told me to just wait and see what happens.

  • Can you tell me a little about your childs vaccination history and any dental work done. yes, she has had all vaccinations done by a very good pediatric office. She was at the dentist about 2 months ago for a regular check up, she has never really had anything major done at all.

  • Hmmmmm this is a toughy. I am guessing you are concerned that its not Strep A but new symtpoms to old problem? Any other symptoms what-so-ever when the chest pains started to occur? When she was diagnosed with Strep A how was she tested? Was she tested using swab or culuture? Is she still on antibiotics if not I suggest you have her retested to make sure she still has Group Strep A and have her put on some more antibiotics. From my understanding blisters aren't uncommon in Strep and related viruses such as mono and etc. Actually all the symptoms blisters, very tird and cold all the time, ear pain, and stomach problems, and swollen glands could all be considered part. Best bet though if you don't believe it is strep like I said have her retested to see if the bacteria is still present. This way at least you will know if she still needs antibiotics or if you can move on to another possible cause. I wish your daughter a quick recovery. http://www.dhpe.org/infect/strepa.htmlhttp://www.medicinenet.com/sore_throat/article.htm

  • has she been on a lot of antibiotics? no she has only taken amoxil for her strep, it was 400mg twice a day for about 11 days, last dose was about 15 days ago. The doctor today prescribed zithromax, to be taken for 5 days.
