Hello! I was diagnosed with gluten intolerancy at the age 12 or so, after a long long time of occasional stomach aches and some strange skin condition which was later, after ALOT of testing confirmed to be Dermatitis herpetiformis.

I had to eat Dapsone (think was the one) for a year or so to get them away.

Now Ive moved out from home, moved to a diffrent country.. And I had a period of a 3weeks or so some time ago where I was not very careful about gluten - I actually ate quite some. Seeing as how I didnt react much in my stomach I thought that maybe, with some luck it had grown away with the years.

Now recently I believe the skin condition has come back, Ive got rashes on the elbows, some on my butt(developed after elbows, cant remember i had there when i was younger) my armpits, the spot towards the arm extension. The back of my knees.

But what makes me question it further is that the itching is worse on my feet, on top of my feet - also cant remember having them there when I was younger.
This aswell as some other kind of rash looking more like psoriasis, just this morning there was a spot close to my eyebrow that was red, felt dry and the skin was sort of falling off.. Also experiencing some similar things on my nose but no redness.

I'm also wheezing and have had some flem in my lounges when I wake in the mornings. I believe this to be irrelevant but you guys might think otherwise..

Im going to my doctor this week for the wheesing and will talk to him about the itching aswell.

Thanks in advance!

  • Forgot to mention. Do you think, that if this is dermatitis again, that It will go away by itself? Ive not had gluten for about 3weeks now.edit, also came to think of one more thing. The rashes on the feet are worse nighttime/morning, or like just now before i decided to post here. I had been having my shoes and socks on(due to cold temprature here) and just when i took it all of to let my feet breath the itching started... its so hard to not itch :/ i scratch myself bloody like a scab animal but it feels really good when i do it :o

  • I don't think you ever "grow out of" celiac disease, which is what you have. It may take awhile before you feel better if you have had gluten recently. Also, if you're in a different country now, you may be having gluten in things like candy, muthwash etc. & not know it.
