In November of 1994 while deployed to Haiti, I had fallen ill with possible Dengue Fever and was hospitalized in country. Approximately one week later I was MEDEVAC to U.S. for Acute Febrile Illness. Many tests were conducted, however a definitive diagnosis was never made/given.
My question... Do viral remnants of Dengue Fever remain present in one's body long after they have been infected? For many years, once or twice a year, and sometimes every other year, I have suffered conditions of high fever, bleeding gums (sometimes), headaches, and rash with severe itching. These symptoms last approximately 3 to 5 days and then subside to abnormal fatigue/weakness and body ache.
