Dark patch on foreskin

I've been recently noticing this dark spot forming on my foreskin. It's not really a focused spot but more of a dark smudge "as if I had black ink on my hands and I slightly touched my penis" kind of spot. It's not bumpy or has any texture to it, but looks more like my skin just got darker at that spot. When I'm flaccid, it's darker since my foreskin isn't stretched, but when it is, it looks like the dark skin is broken up into smaller portions, not really connected to form a dark patch, kind of sense. Can't really explain it any better than that.

Been reading around and some sites say it's pigmentation and some might suggest it's melanoma. I've looked at some of the pictures of melanoma and most looked different than what I have with their raised, bumpy texture, and shiny look to it so, I don't think it's that.

Anyone have any ideas?

  • I have the exact same thing and wondering the exact same thing. Mine is on the tip, where my thumb would be when masterbating, and a little on the back. It doesn't like Malenoma.

  • Zoon's plasma cell balanitis: Zoon's balanitis appears as a bright red, shiny-surfaced plaque on the glans or inner surface of the foreskin. It is usually painless but may be accompanied by itching. The cause is unknown. It may respond to application of steroid cream, but frequently recurs. Circumcision is curative, but not essential. It is a harmless condition but can be confused with the much more serious condition of Erythroplasia of Queyrat. It is not infectious.Erythroplasia of Queyrat: appears as a sharply demarcated bright red plaque with a velvety surface. It is usually painless, and not itchy. It is an early manifestation of penile cancer and needs prompt diagnosis and treatment. Excision of the affected area is usually curative. It is not infectious.Balanitis and posthitis: balanitis is an inflammatory condition of the glans penis. Posthitis is an inflammatory condition of the foreskin. Symptoms include local irritation, burning and a red rash. Sometimes the skin appears to be peeling off as if scalded. Bacteria and yeasts such as candida can cause it. It is more common in older men and those with diabetes. Balanitis is infectious and may be sexually transmitted. It can be treated with appropriate antimicrobial creams.

  • my situation is similar.... i have a small black spot of my foreskin...and i dont know how longs it been there but i have done it and with a condom.. so im pretty sure it cant be an std but then why is it there? is it bad D; could it be excessive masturbation?

  • i just found something that sounds similar to this, im a bit of a hypocondriact and im worried it may be cancerous, i was worried about melenoma but as the OP said it looks more like a smudge than a mole, im 19 and caucasion and my penis is naturally darker than the rest of my skin. i dont think its that Zooms thing, the mark is not red at all but dark brown, though lighter than a mole. i think ill go and see the doctor, i'll post again if i do. if anyone finds anything that would put my mind at rest could you post it.

  • I have the seem as you guys have described above. A dark sort of smudge that looks darker when penis is flaccid compared to erect. Its not raised or lumpy or anything - just darker skin. Anyone found anything out about it yet and how it can be got rid of? Anyone been to a doctor? I was thinking of going soon. think it been around for a year or so now!

  • I've had the same problem for a few months now. It seems to be a small, dark brown smudge mark on the top-right of my foreskin. Futhermore, I've had on and off problems with my foreskin since I was a teenager. Partial circumcision is something I'm seriously looking at.

  • I have exactly the same as you have all described. It appears that due to its position it could be directly related to masturbation and where I hold my penis when I do so. Is there anyway of getting rid of it?

  • I too have the exact same thing. I wont bother describing it because it has been perfectly described in this thread. I've had it for about a year now and i wouldnt care if there wasnt the risk that it could be cancerous/harmful. Its not really embarrasing because when my penis is erect its almost not visible at all.One of us are eventually going to go to a doctor so whoever it is, please post back to tell us what the doctor said, thanks!. I'm considering going but havnt decided yet.

  • Have you ever thought about getting the foreskin removed? In my later years; 40ish, I had mine removed and what I thought was a major thing was over in no time. I had mine done because the elasticity was gone, but you have different reasons than mine. Anyhow, its something to consider because besides eliminating your current problem, you wouldnt believe the freedom and comfort it will give you. Also, sensitivity during sex will be increased. And as I already said, I had the procedure performed on me and it was not a major operation and the healing time was minimal. Goodluck.

  • I have one too, like everyone else has said, just a small black smudge on the foreskin, near the tip. I'm not too worried about it, but I thought I might give you guys a hint - Mine first appeared the night I lost my virginity. It was without a condom, since she was on birth control. But yeah, try thinking about that.

  • Has anyone found what this dark skin is? I'm glad I've found this thread. I have had the exact same thing for a long time. As another user pointed out, it could be related to mastubartion, since the dark area directly matches the places my hand holds.

  • I have the exact same problem also. I am fourteen and a half and it appeared after masturbation. Am really worried about it and don't know weather I should go to the doctors. Couldn't care less about it only it could be cancer. If anyone has an explination I would like to know it. It is near like the tendon thing at the back near the foreskin

  • hey, my doctor referred me to a dermatologist and after seeing him for about 2 seconds he looked at it and said it was jsut normal skin pigmentation. If u guys have a flat dark region of skin that doesnt change, I am pretty sure ur the same as me. I have 2 areas like that on my foreskin and he said its completely normal.Hope that helped you all.
