I had an MRI done for pain in my back and also an MRCP for other pains. I was told I have some cysts in my kidneys. These are the findings:
1.4 cm cyst within the lateral right mid kidney.
8 mm cyst in the right upper pole.
Approx. 1.5 mm cyst in the upper pole left kidney.
My Dr said there isn't anything to be concerned about but I can't help but worry it's something more serious.
Should I have them checked by a urologist or is this something that is nothing to be worried about. How will I know if they get to be more serious? Do they cause pain or bleeding?
I've never heard of this before and don't know what to expect.
Thank you
Celia

I also have calcification that doctors at the hospital doesnt consider as a stone but my urologyst does. I been sufering from severe lower back still they dont explain why is the reason of the pain. Every 3 months I been experiencing this plus UTI ..They diagnosed medullary sponge kidney..one case from 15,000-20,000 ...maybe there more cases than what they are reporting.......I still have my doubts but thats what they have said so now Im trying to gather as much information to understand my sickness. Im not saying you have the same but worth the try to find out, goodluck

  • My husband has polycystic kidney disease. He suffers from lower back pain and he seems to get kidney stones quite a bit. I would suggest looking up polycystic kidney disease on the internet. I would also see a urologist.
