Help.
Im 16
It started 2 days ago when a cut on my pinky became swollen, so swollen i had issues bending my pink and it hurt to the touch. The swelling began to subside but i began to notice redlines extending from the cut down my pinky following a vein up my arm. Soon after bumps began appearing on these veins. 4 of them all hurt to the touch there not pointy or sharp just sore. I began taking antibiotics and the red lines have been subsiding but the bumps havnt. this morning i realized there is now a bump on my neck. What could this be? is it life threatening. i need a diagnosis because no one has supplied me with on yet.

  • You should go back to your doctor. The cut got infected and that caused the stiffness/pain and the red lines/vein swelling, which is why your doctor put you on antibiotics. The lump in your neck is probably a lymph node, you have them all over your body and they swell up when the body is fighting an infection. Since you are still having symptoms of a bad infection despite being on antibiotics, you may require stronger medicines or antibiotic injections instead of pills. As the previous reply said, untreated infections can lead to sepsis (a blood infection) that can cause all sorts of problems.Keep us posted and good luck,E
