First pain occured in left lower abdomen with fever of 100 Deg F in 2001 which was treated with Ciplox TZ. The drug had remarkable impact to recovery. Diverticulitis was suspected.
The pain would off and on recur at the same spot in roughly 6 months interval and be treated with the drug till 2006. Pain frequency increased to nearly 2-3 months and Ciplox TZ was no longer effective. Other drugs were used for management. April 2008 pain frequency was just 10 days with antibiotics being ineffective later part of April 08.

In May 2008 colonoscopy was done. Biopsy was normal except indicating heavy inflammation of GI surface with multiple diverticulae was evident in the colonoscopy. Steroids Budez CR 3 Caps a day with Pentasa 500 6 caps a day were prescribed along with supplements of calcium and vitamins.

In spite of continued medication now for over a year, frequency of pain is average 5-6 months which again is managed with antibiotics Norflox 400 TDS.

Could it be celiac disease. How long can I take steroids which have not been withdrawn or reduced. What is the prognosis?

It did not make any difference. I have not tried with avoiding other foods. Doctors did not suggest any diaries to be kept and the wheat experiment was my initiative.
