cranial pressure/sharp pains

For the past year or so now I've been experiencing these sharp pains in a particular spot on my head. It sort of feels like my brain is being poked with a needle. When I begin to get these sharp pains, I also get this feeling as if my brain is swelling up in that area; it kind of feels like it's pushing against my skull, and I get really dizzy and light-headed. I used to only experience this about once a month, but lately it has been occurring about three times a week. These episodes often last the entire day. Though the sharp pains will come and go throughout the day, the cranial pressure is fairly consistant. I really have no clue what could be the cause. I am young and healthy and havn't had any other problems with health issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • I don't have insurance, so I haven't been able to afford seeing a doctor. That's why I decided to post a thread on here. I was hoping I could find someone who might have an idea on what the problem might be. I will really take any advice I can get right now!

  • Hello Has the pain gotten worse since it started? Can you sleep through the pain? Have you tried naproxin (in aleave) and warm compresses to the area? As far as medical care, there are places that accept the sliding fee scale. So if you earn $10,000 a year your care would be cheaper than someone who makes $30,000. If you google sliding scale medical care you may come up with a facility. Cala
