I am a 62 year old female. I am overweight in the stomach area. About 20 months ago I felt a lump about 2 inches above the navel. There is a bulge there. The lump is kind of soft but does not go away at all when I lie down and can't seem to be pushed back in. Once is awhile I feel a burning sensation or pulling. I have no other symptoms. Since I have had this lump so long do I have to rule out a hernia? I know I need to see a Doctor. What could this be? Since I have had it so long I am afraid I am dying.
