For the last 4-5 months I've been coughing up a lot of phelgm - it changes in colour and consistency (sometimes it'll be thick and yellow/green, othertimes it'll be thin and clear).
My first doctor suggested a course of antibiotics, this seemed to helped but a few days after the course of antibiotics (amoxycilin) the phelgm symptoms returned.
He then got me to do a lung xray and lung function test, both came back normal (lung xray was completely clear and my lung function was well above average). That doctor then told me to just take it easy for a couple of weeks to see how it progressed.
After a couple of weeks I decided to see a new doctor to get a second opinon as it hadn't cleared. He put me on another course of amoxycilin (this time it was double the duration) and also told me to take a hayfever tablet once a day every day.
I didn't really see any improvement at all and was still coughing up lots of phelgm.
I'm not really sure what else to do, what could be causing this? Any help would be very much appreciated it.
I'll be seeing another doctor to get a third opinon as it's making sleeping and doing any type of exercises difficult.
