If anyone can help me with this, I would be very grateful...for the past year I have had constant severe "non-stop" headaches in the top center of my head "it feels like a soft spot" and I am also losing my hair in that same soft spot...

I have taken every headache pain reliever and can only get relief when taking vicodin...

I am concerned as because my cat scan and mri was negative...

Is there another test that I can request...

Also the doctors told me that adults donot have soft spots?

Please help!
Maxcine...

  • More or less concerning the soft spot it is somewhat true. Babies have soft spots not because...well you know...during pregnancy, it's very impossible to do so unless the woman is giving birth at the time which I doubt. As the baby grows the bones harden (babies have soft squishy bones making them flexible and a reason as to why they are able to be popped out of a hole 1/2 the babies size) thus concludes that Adults shouldn't have a soft spot. However, due to different bone types, it is very possible to have developed a soft spot. There is not much I can say about you're loosing hair near the soft spot, but when it comes to CAT scans and MRI's these machines are used to scan the bones and innards of a Human. I've had a CAT scan a while ago, and my mother was in the room and made a comment saying it looked like I was smiling (she could see my skull).Anyways, there's not much I can say about your soft spot, but hair falling out is a sign of stress or part of hereditary. So either you're stressed enough to have hair falling out, or your parents have had hair falling out at an early age.Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. :(
