Hi All. I posted this middle of last year but thought it was time to re-post and see if there's any fresh ideas.

Main Symptom: 24x7 Nausea, which has become worse over the last 3 months.

I also get pain in the stomach occasionally, generally a bit achy (probably because I eat so little), and over the last couple of months I've started getting little red spots appearing on me (I've got around 20 now, they don't disappear, or fade after I press on them.)

Tests I've Had:
Endoscopy and Colonoscopy - clear
2 x Ultrasounds of abdomen - clear
Hida Scan - good as gold (doctors words, not mine)
Barium Swallow CT Scan - clear
Blood Work - only abnormality was elevated billirubin
Gastric Emptying Scan - ok

What I've tried:
Elimination Diet
Acupuncture
Chinese Herbs
Naturopathy/Homeopathy
Meditation
Lived in the bush (middle of no-where, not even electricity) for a month
Antidepressants (was on for 12 months, have stopped now - made no difference)
Counselling

I'm convinced this is physical. All started after a bout of food poisoning. I'm so unwell I don't even leave my house anymore...

Hoping someone has some answers/suggestions. Thanks.

  • I couldn't figure out how to edit my last post, but wanted to add I'm taking Maxalon and Phenergan for the nausea, but it does very little to help - only takes the edge off.

  • hiwow. i have also had constant nausea since june 2009. so that makes it 20 months for me as it is now feburary 2011.i have tried everything including mega vitamins and hormones but nothing helped (actually these two things made it worse). now i'm on a super healthy diet (a modification of the gerson diet). it's the only thing that has relieved the intensity of hte nausea but the frequency (daily) is still there.my abdomen looks like i've swallowed a ball.5 years ago i went travelling in marocco and contracted helicobacter pylori (so the doctor said). the symptoms didn't include nausea but my abdomen was swollen like a ball ... like it is now.he gave me antibiotics and acid surpressing (??) tablets and i had a breath test after the treatment (can't remember how long it went for) adn they said i was clear.tuesday i will go back to the doctor and ask for another test to see if hte helicobacter pylori is still actually in my system as i'm thinking that it's actually hard to get rid of and i wonder how accurate the breath test is. i will also request an endoscopy and maybe a colonoscopy.but the more i live with this problem, the more i think it's a stomach related thing. i've also had two ultra-sounds of the abdomen (organs (but not stomach)) and they said everything "looks normal". but structure looking normal and the organ functioning normally are two different things. many problems in the brain don't come up on structural scans (epilepsy, encephalitis). this is also particularly true for the liver. it take alot of damage to the liver before anything shows up on a liver function test (as i understand it, liver function tests actually test for damage rather than function). max gerson talks about how people with cancer often have dyfunction livers (as found in a liver biopsy when tested for certain enzymes) but their structural and liver functoin tests come up normal.i wonder if the problem could also instead be in the small intestine - isn't that hard to check?anyways, good luck. maybe you could also check for helicobacter pylori in your system if you haven't checked for it already.
