I am a 23 year old Caucasian Female. A few weeks ago I noticed I was passing frequent and very odorous flatulence. It's quite embarrassing and sometimes it is so bad that I can't even be around it. That is really my only symptom. I have normal bowel movements and everything else seems to be normal. Except recently I have been a little more tired and lethargic and have had a bigger appetite than usual. I went to my doctor about a week ago. All blood tests turned out normal. I am trying to eat Gluten free, but since the blood tests came back normal the probability of having Celiac Sprue is low (because there was no infection found in the bloodstream). What else can it be? Can someone help point my research and efforts in the right direction?

  • hi, I suggest a detoxification .. 3 days with fresh squeezed juices ( preferably organic ) ; brown rice ; fresh organic spinach or other green leafy salad; salmon ; white turkey...see how it goes. detox the colon...the smell might be putrification inside the colon....no sugar , no pasta no potatoes no bread...they cause sugar imbalance and will give you cravings. After those 3 days of diet try to add 1 food at a time and see how it goes; that way you can check on any possibility of allergy. Good Luck.

  • Are you saying that in order to cleanse, I would need to eat only the foods you mentioned for 3 days or only fresh squeezed juice for 3 days? What is the real difference between squeezing organic and non organic fruit/vegetable juice? Thanks a lot for your help!

  • The chances are it is down to your diet. It might be worth trying to stay off types of food associated with excess flatulence (check a website for these). It might be that you have an imbalace in the bacteria in your gut also and taking a probiotic might help.
